Presented at the Milan Motorcycle Show in 1971, it was available the following year at a price of 420,000 lire, excluding the road, without directional indicators and with a front drum braking system. This version was equipped with cast iron cylinders, had the lever for the air control on the handlebar, the push buttons were of elementary conception, the front fork was of Marzocchi production. Other features were the round rear light with matching support, the long flat-profile saddle, the exhaust compensation pipe (a feature that will remain on the 250 for the whole production) and the connections of the metal plates that passed under the silencers. The fuel tank had a capacity of 12.5 liters and although it was prepared, the bike was not equipped with a mixer and therefore with 5% mixture lubrication.
