Bugatti 1300

In 1990, the BUGATTI company of Campo Galliano conducted an image research on the possibility of building a small-displacement sports coupé at a reasonable price.
They did not want to create a whimsical subject but one that reflected, in the canons of the time, the characteristics of sportiness in a market niche considered to be evolving for the years to come.
A Suzuki-derived chassis and engine were used in relation to previous collaboration agreements between the two companies.
This theme was proposed to various design studios but unfortunately, both due to financial problems and market risk, the project was abandoned.
In the present proposal, there is a formal research that is very limited in size with some slightly trendy appendages but with relative reserve. The solution of the tilting door is interesting (dis lat 3), a solution that allowed exiting the passenger compartment in conditions of reduced lateral space, since the doors of coupés are traditionally longer.
This exercise in stylistic collaboration was frequent between companies and independent design studios precisely to keep in mind the trend of product evolution.
